I have a problem with caffeine as well (monster energy drink...the lo carb, lo sugar one), bu it looks like it may be the diet soda that could be the worst for you overall...just my .o2 cents...diet soda is full of crappy things, at least with caffeine you can drink more water to replenish. Just a thought. otherwise, nice blog, nice scheduled workouts as well!!

I've had this happen. When I first started my long runs, years ago, I would come home with so much energy and not be hungry at all. Then the next day, I would be ravenous and confused. I think the body does what it needs to do that day of the 'stress' then recovers the next day to remind you to chill, eat and relax. Thank goodness for 'rest days'!

i take your comment as a compliment! although you might give me more credit for being "serious" than i deserve. i have very little time to train so i try not to waste a minute of a workout so to that end i am serious.
my running playlists tend to be a mix of heavy metal and pop/dance music. i like the combination because the metal is just angry enough to get me fired up to move and the pop is happy and upbeat to offset the angry stuff. at some point i'll write down my most recent one - it's totally bizarre!

If you've had trouble going gluten-free in the past and have resigned yourself to slim pickins as far as flavor and texture go, then I suggest you check back with your area markets frequently because new stuff comes out everyday. I got some great ideas from emailing my local shop, MOM-My Organic Market, and I've seen some good stuff at WholeFoods too. They may even have a sampling event now &then for gluten-free treats. Have you ever tried Diamond Nut Thins? I love the almond ones...
Bon Apetit!
